Debuting at the 2012 Geneva Motor Show to replace the 599 GTB, the Ferrari F12 sports a naturally aspirated 6.3L V12, an engine that has won International Engine of the Year and Best Engine above 4.0L. Named Supercar of the Year (2012) by Top Gear, the Ferrari F12 eventually gave way to the 812 Superfast and is now a part of the Ferrari legacy.
Whether you’re drawn to the Ferrari F12berlinetta’s specs, its luxurious and precision engineered design, or its place in the Prancing Horse canon, Ferrari Lake Forest has the details
While the exact number of Ferrari F12berlinettas has never been announced, it has been estimated that about 5,000 of the standard F12berlinetta were produced between its debut in 2012 and the arrival of the 812 Superfast in 2017. The original Ferrari F12 price started at $319,995, though the price of a Ferrari Certified F12 will depend on the specific model, its age, and a range of other factors.
The F12berlinetta is not the only Ferrari F12 produced, however. The Ferrari F12tdf (pictured) was limited to 799 units and paid homage to the Tour de France (hence the F12tdf). There was also a range of one-off F12 models, including
The 6.3L naturally aspirated 65° V12 makes the F12berlinetta one of the most powerful Ferrari road cars produced to this day, surpassed only by era-defining models like the LaFerrari and the 812 Superfast.
Power: 730 hp at 8,250 RPM
Torque: 509 lb-ft at 6,000 RPM
Top Speed: 211 mph
0-62 mph: 3.1 seconds
Transmission: 7-speed dual-clutch with shortened gear ratios
These specs are only due in part to that hand-assembled engine — the F12berlinetta owes its quickness to aerodynamics inspired by the 599XX and Formula One programs. The Aero Bridge channels air from the hood and through the flanks along the sides of the vehicle to create increased downforce. Active Brake Cooling ducts open when the brake get hot and need cooling, closing to preserve the sleek, wind-tunnel honed curves and get the most out of the 6.3L V12.
While the head-turning exterior design and award-winning engine are the main draws to the F12, the interior ensures you’re in the highest comfort while behind the wheel. To enhance sportiness and efficiency, the F12 volumes were reduced, delivering a streamlined look in the cockpit with a racing-inspired driving position. Hand-executed detailing is balanced evenly with advanced technology features to give the F12 cabin an intuitive feel whether it’s your first or your hundredth time behind the wheel.
The ergonomic layout of the cockpit functions embraces Ferrari’s Human Machine Interface, putting you within reach of all essential controls without ever needing to take your hands off the wheel. The tunnel console puts all of your necessary specs at the ready, so you can keep your eyes on the road and simply enjoy the drive.
