Mattia Binotto joined the Ferrari F1 team as an engineer and worked his way up to eventually become the team principal. Mattia Binotto stepped in for the 2019 season and started his team principal career working closely with the drivers for the Scuderia Ferrari team at the time, Sebastian Vettel and Charles Leclerc.
When Mattia Binotto became team principal, Ferrari was on a winning drought and needed someone new to lead the team. With Mattia Binotto as the team principal since 2019, Ferrari showed some improvements with several podiums but was not quite at the championship just yet.
